Civic News

We are seeking volunteers for several committees in our neighborhood. Currently, there are openings for the following (descriptions below):

Architectural Review Committee (ARC) – This committee promotes quality, harmony, and conformity throughout our neighborhood by ensuring that all modification requests conform to the rules set forth in the Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions section of the Declarations.

Crime & Safety Watch – This committee is responsible for addressing safety concerns in the neighborhood through means of engaging individuals throughout the neighborhood to building a strong presence, thus preventing crime. At present, the committee is served by six people, whom works closely with the Board of Directors and local authorities in CharMeck and Harrisburg. The committee meets regularly with Block Captains and other leaders. Joint meetings are expected to occur quarterly and to be announced via Newsletter, Neighborhood Signage, Social Media, and/or other forms of communication.

Neighborhood Matching Grants – The City of Charlotte has established a program that allows neighborhoods to apply for grants to assist with neighborhood improvement projects. Volunteer hours must equate to the amount of money being utilized on a project. For example, if we use $500 to build a dog park at $25/volunteer hour for four hours with five volunteers, that would cover the cost). Unfortunately, we cannot receive hourly credit for individuals that live in Cabarrus County or the Town of Harrisburg; however, if you wish to volunteer, we would be more than happy to have you.

Pool Committee – The Pool Committee was established to ensure both a fun and safe time at our pool facilities.

Social Committee – Our Social Committee is responsible for the various events that take place throughout the Neighborhood. Last years End of Summer Pool Party and this year’s Luau Party were planned by the neighbors that serve on this committee. The Social Committee works directly with the Board in terms of funding and planning.
